Daiwa Argon Stirring Lance (also known as an argon lance or ladle stirring lance) is a consumable lance used in secondary metallurgy to inject argon gas into molten steel during ladle refining processes such as the Ladle Furnace (LF/LRF), VAD, and VOD. Through controlled argon stirring, it promotes heat transfer and mass transfer, helping homogenize steel temperature and chemical composition, improve alloy distribution, accelerate steel–slag reactions, support desulfurization, and promote the flotation and removal of non-metallic inclusions.
Daiwa Argon Lance is widely used in steel mills and secondary steelmaking operations for molten steel refining, ladle stirring, degassing, and steel cleanliness control. It can also be used as an emergency argon stirring lance when the bottom stirring system, porous plug, or tuyere is blocked or temporarily unavailable, helping maintain effective refining and stable steel quality before continuous casting.

Durable Refractory-Coated Structure
Daiwa Argon Stirring Lance features a durable steel pipe core protected by a thick refractory coating. Reinforced with V-shaped steel anchors, the refractory layer provides strong bonding and stability during high-temperature operation. The structure is designed to withstand temperatures of up to approximately 1,800°C, ensuring reliable argon injection into molten steel during secondary steelmaking and ladle refining processes.

Daiwa Argon Stirring Lance is available in various sizes to suit different ladle refining and secondary steelmaking requirements. The steel pipe core is available with an outer diameter of 48.6–60.5 mm, a wall thickness of 3.6–14.2 mm, and a length of 4,000–6,000 mm. Custom specifications may also be available to meet specific operating conditions and customer requirements.



Controlled argon stirring promotes efficient heat and mass transfer, helping achieve more uniform molten steel temperature and chemical composition during secondary refining.

Argon injection supports the flotation and removal of non-metallic inclusions while promoting effective steel–slag reactions, contributing to cleaner and higher-quality steel.

The lance can provide emergency or supplementary argon stirring when bottom stirring systems, porous plugs, or tuyeres are blocked or temporarily unavailable.
