What We Can Offer?
Ceramic-Coated Oxygen Lance Pipe with High Heat Protection

Daiwa CC Lance (Ceramic Coated Lance Pipe) is a ceramic lance pipe made from mild steel, engineered for steelmaking and high-temperature metal processing. It features special refractory ceramic coating layers on both the inner and outer surfaces (double ceramic coating), which act as the key protective barrier against oxidation, corrosion, and slag attack from molten metal splash in Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) conditions—helping improve durability and longevity.

If you are looking for a cost-effective consumable lance pipe for oxygen blowing and carbon injection, CC Lance is a practical option to improve operational stability and reduce downtime.

*Note: The refractory layers of ceramic coating can be flexibly applied with different thickness to suit changing needs of each customer.

Technical Specifications

Structure

Daiwa CC Lance uses a 2-layer structure to improve heat resistance, slag resistance, and operator safety in EAF conditions.

  • Mild steel base pipe: The core pipe for oxygen delivery and mechanical strength.
  • Refractory ceramic coating (inside & outside): A double ceramic layer that acts as a thermal and chemical barrier against heat attack, slag, and molten metal splash, while also providing an insulation layer for electric shock prevention in high-voltage areas.

Size

When selecting sizes for an oxygen lance pipe, a simple and effective order is: OD → ID → thickness → length. OD/thickness influence stiffness and heat endurance, while length affects handling and replacement time. For plants that require custom setups for carbon injection or specific furnace conditions, Daiwa can tailor coating thickness and dimensions upon request.

Connection Type

The type/connection affects day-to-day usability and should be selected based on working space, sealing requirements, and pipe replacement procedures. Connection options are typically grouped into two categories: threaded and non-threaded (most commonly plain end or press-coupling end). Choosing the right type helps improve sealing performance, reduce leakage risk, and streamline installation and replacement work on the shop floor.

  • Type 1 : Both ends are threaded and fitted with one screw socket and one plastic cap. Full coating from end to end.
  • Type 2 : Both ends are threaded and fitted with one screw socket and one plastic cap. One end is free of coating about 200mm.
  • Type 3 : Both ends are threaded and fitted with one screw socket and one plastic cap. Both ends are free of coating about 200mm.
  • Type 4 : Both ends are plain, with no thread. Both ends are free of coating about 200mm.
  • Type 5 : Both ends are plain, with no thread. Both ends are free of coating about 200mm and 40mm, respectively.
  • Type 6 : One end is fitted with a press coupling. Other end is free of coating about 200mm.

Practical Applications

Daiwa CC Lance is often used for tap-hole opening, cutting, refining, and blowing/injecting in high-temperature environments such as EAF.

  1. Oxygen blowing to cut steel scrap and refine molten steel in Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) operations.
  2. Carbon injection and lime powder injection (and other additives) for adjusting grades of carbon steels.
  3. Oxygen lancing to cut and melt, and to remove residual slags adhered inside the oxygen converter.
  4. Blowing inert gases such as nitrogen and argon in secondary metallurgy (ladle furnace) or smelter-related work, depending on your process setup.
  5. Open tap holes (including EBT tapping) by burning through plug material with a high-temperature oxygen flame.

Advantages

Increased Lifespan

The reduced consumption rate achieved by the high heat resistance of Daiwa CC Lance significantly increases its lifespan from 3 to 5 times.

FAQ

Q.

What is the difference between Daiwa CC Lance and a mild steel lance pipe?

A.

CC Lance is a ceramic coated lance pipe with heat-resistant ceramic layers (inner + outer) that improve resistance to heat attack/oxidation/slag, helping reduce quick consumption compared with standard mild steel pipes.

Q.

Which furnaces is CC Lance best suited for?

A.

CC Lance is commonly used in Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and other high-temperature environments with molten metal splash and slag exposure. It can also be used in converter/ladle/smelter operations depending on the blowing/injecting application.

Q.

What information should I provide to get an accurate recommendation or quotation?

A.

Ideally provide: application (oxygen blowing/carbon injection…), furnace type, current problems, and the spec flow OD → ID → thickness → length → connection.

Q.

Can the ceramic coating be adjusted to different operating needs?

A.

Yes. The refractory ceramic coating can be optimized in thickness based on operating conditions and priorities (longer life, better slag resistance, cost focus, etc.).

Q.

How do I choose the right connection/type for easier handling and tight sealing?

A.

It depends on your working space and replacement procedure: threaded/plain/press coupling. If needed, share your connection preference, handling length, and operating method so Daiwa can recommend the most suitable type.
