SDS
SDS is an abbreviation for Safety Data Sheet. This is a document to provide information on the physical and chemical properties, hazards, harmfulness, and handling of chemical substances to the other party when transferring or providing chemical substances and mixtures containing chemical substances.
The information to be written in the SDS includes the names and physical and chemical properties of the chemical substances contained in the chemical product, as well as hazards, harmfulness, first aid measures in case of exposure, handling methods, storage methods, and disposal methods.
SDS may be created and distributed voluntarily by businesses that manufacture and import chemical substances to ensure the safety of users and consumers, but the provision of SDS is regulated by law for certain dangerous or harmful substances.
In addition, international frameworks have been established, including agreements in ILO (International Labor Organization) conventions and standardization by ISO (International Organization for Standardization), and the provision of SDS is mandatory in many countries overseas, including Europe and the United States.
