3 Types of Ceramic-Coated Aluminum Lance Pipes

When it comes to gas injection in silicon smelting furnaces, choosing the right tools is crucial. Daiwa Aluminum Lance Pipes - stand out for their superior quality, being free from iron impurities, is a preferred choice in the industry. But it's not just about quality — selecting the right technical specifications to suit your needs and match the furnace equipment is equally important. In this blog, we'll introduce you to three standard designs of Ceramic-Coated Aluminum Lance Pipes, helping you make the best decision for your operations.

Daiwa Aluminum Lance Type 1

First, we would like to introduce a common type of Ceramic-Coated Aluminum Lance Pipe, Type T1. For this type, a ceramic coating layer resistant to corrosion and high temperatures will be applied to the entire surface of the aluminum-based pipe. Thanks to this ceramic coating, the aluminum pipe can be equipped with dual protection, minimizing melting and excessive consumption at the temperature over 1,000oC in the silicon smelting furnaces.

In addition, both ends of Aluminum Lance Pipe are also threaded. One end is fitted with a socket screw, while the other end is protected by a plastic cap to minimize thread damage during storage at the factory. With this threaded and socket screw connection, operators can easily connect the pipes by hand, saving any leftover lance pipe

Daiwa Aluminum Lance Type 2

Secondly, we have Daiwa Aluminum Lance Type 2, a variation of Type 1, with the key difference being the length of the ceramic coating applied to the surface of the aluminum-based pipe.

As shown in the image, instead of a full coating, the ceramic layer covers only a portion of the pipe, while the remaining section is polished. The polished length can be customized based on customer requirements, ranging from 150 to 300 mm. Owing to the design, Daiwa Aluminum Lance Type 2 is suitable for lance holders with smaller inner diameters compared to those used for Type 1.

Daiwa Aluminum Lance Type 6

Lastly, we have Daiwa Aluminum Lance Type 6. This design features a full ceramic coating over the entire aluminum-based pipe, with one end polished to a length of 150-300 mm as specified. The polished end is then threaded, and the other end is fitted with a compressed coupling.

Thanks to its specially designed coupling, Type 6 eliminates the need for manual connection of two lance pipes. Instead, you can use a specialized machine called Daiwa Press Machine to press the pipes together effortlessly. Moreover, this connection method is considered as the most airtight among the 3 types, which can significantly reduce gas leakage during operation.
