Burning Bar

Burning Bar, also known as Thermal Lance or Thermic Lance, is a specialized tool used primarily for thermal cutting and demolition operations. It consists of a lengthy steel pipe filled with a powerful mixture of iron wires.

In Daiwa Lance, we frequently use the product term "Thermic Lance" interchangeably with Burning Bar.

As the lance is ignited at one end, the oxygen supplied by a pressurized oxygen source combines with the iron wires and inner steel pipes, creating a chemical reaction known as thermite.

And the principle behind Thermic Lance is relatively straightforward.

Iron (Fe) + Oxygen (O2) -> Iron Oxide (Fe2O3) + Heat

In this reaction, iron reacts with oxygen to form iron oxide, also known as rust (Fe2O3). This reaction is highly exothermic, meaning it releases a significant amount of heat. The intense heat generated during this reaction is what allows the Thermic Lance to achieve such high temperatures, making it effective for cutting through various materials.
