Fabrication work is a critical part of many industries, ranging from construction to manufacturing. It involves the process of designing, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials to create structures or parts for various applications. The most common materials used in fabrication are metals such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, but it can also include other materials like plastic and wood.

Fabrication includes several specialized processes:

  • Cutting: Dividing raw materials into smaller pieces.
  • Folding: Bending materials into specific shapes.
  • Casting: Pouring molten material into a mold to create a desired shape.
  • Forging: Shaping metal by hammering or pressing it.
  • Machining: Removing material from a workpiece using tools like lathes, drills, and mills.
  • Shearing: Cutting sheet metal using a shearing machine.
  • Punching: Creating holes or shapes in sheet metal using a punch press.
  • Stamping: Creating raised or indented designs on sheet metal using a stamping press.
  • Welding: Joining metal pieces together using heat and pressure.
