The Covid-19 pandemic has changed many things either to all business around the world or to single human life. In Daiwa Lance, due to the quarantine, we just arranged our production to continue partially adapting to the situation and postpone the blog to deal with urgent situations. Today, we would like to restart our blog and hope that it will bring you all some impactful information.
What’s SDGs?
SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals - is the human rights guide to address the development challenges faced in the world. SDGs are developed by the Danish Institute for Human Rights consists of 17 ambitious goals among 169 targets, that focus on ending poverty, preserving the earth's environment, and ensuring everybody can experience peace and prosperity.
In Viet Nam, the UN contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals by $199.7M available resources.

Daiwa Lance's Efforts to Apply SDGs in Working Environment
Encourage A Wholeness Workplace
To sustainably build a safe and respectful environment, following Goal No.3 of SDGs, Daiwa Lance creates an equal and united working environment as a unity, that employees can contribute all efforts equally and wholly. Consistency and understanding in communication between employees create a positive working atmosphere. In order to develop and increase productivity, all ideas for improvement in production are collected monthly, and the more effective ideas are, the greater the rewards will come. We share, listen and give feedback on each other's opinions in a respectful and equal way.
Prioritize “Safety First" Policy
By complying with ISO standards in production and keeping 5S as a priority, we are able to avoid infections from chemicals, air, water, and soil. A safe and pollution-free working environment helps employees feel secure to work for a long time. Yearly, we have a comprehensive check on the mean level of fine dust inside our factory, and oxygen level in the office place. We manage air quality and waste following Goal No.11 and safe working conditions as Goal No.14 of SDGs.
Take Prompt Actions on Mental Well-Being During Pandemic
During the isolation period in HCMC, our company maintains partial production and business activities. Office staff can work remotely, and arrange meetings online for up-to-date activities. Meanwhile, we also build a safety residence area inside the factory, therefore workers can stay the whole time at the plant with safety during quarantine period. Health checks are held continuously everyday to ensure the health of employees.
By learning the SDGs, we know that our organization orientation is on the right track to contribute supporting the environment and human rights along with operating the business .
